River States Conference COVID-19 Update

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference office is actively monitoring the situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference office is communicating with members as well as the NAIA Conference Commissioner's Association and the NAIA National Office.

As this is a very fluid situation everyone is being advised to check with the host school regarding the status of all contests before traveling. Some member schools are opting to only play conference contests or contests within the conference footprint in the near future. There has also been discussion for restricting attendance at contests. So far, the conference office is only aware of restrictions being implemented on indoor events.

At this time all River States Conference contests are scheduled to be played. This could also change as the situation changes.

All attendees should at minimum engage in some form of social distancing by not sitting close to each other. Attendees should bring personal chairs and avoid using bleachers when possible. Attendees should bring hand sanitizer and wash hands as often as possible. Please do not attend if you have any symptoms, indication you might be coming down with something or if you have been in contact with other individuals you know or even suspect to be ill.

Student-Athletes are being constantly reminded of engage in good hygiene, minimize contact outside of their teams and immediately report, by phone, to their coach if they feel ill.

If you are looking for a specific member's response or planned action please visit their specific website as the River States Conference will only report on impact to member RSC intercollegiate athletic programs or contests.
