No. 12 IU Southeast's Woeste named RSC Baseball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio --- No. 12-ranked IU Southeast had junior second baseman Clay Woeste hit .583 on the week to earn River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week for March 9-15.
Woeste, a junior from Lawrenceburg, Ind., collected seven hits in 12 at bats across two games. In the pair of victories, he slugged two doubles, two homers, drove in eight and scored five runs.
He started out going 4 for 6 with a double and two home runs in a 14-8 win over Aquinas (Mich.) on March 9. He scored four times and drove in five. Woeste capped off the week by going 3 for 6 with a double, three RBIs, a run and a stolen base in an 11-7 win over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on March 11.
The week concluded the season for the Grenadiers at 18-1 overall and with six straight wins. In 19 games, Woeste hit .355 with five homers, 25 RBIs and was 15 for 15 on stolen bases.
