RSC sending national qualifiers to NAIA Indoor T&F Championships this weekend

BROOKINGS, S.D -- River States Conference schools are sending several athletes to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships to be held in Brookings, S.D., this weekend. The meet runs Thursday-Saturday, March 5-7 at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on the campus of South Dakota State University.

The RSC's men's qualifiers are led by IU East with the 4x400 relay squad, which has three of the relay members qualified for an individual event as well. Seth Reynolds will run the 60m hurdles, Will Mundy is qualifed for the 400m, and Justin Lowe is a qualifier in the 600m. They will also be on the relay along with Joe Brown and Trent Herbert filling out the squad, including an alternate.
Xavier Stephens is representing Point Park University in the mile. Zack Collins is at nationals for University of Rio Grande in the weight throw. There are three race-walk qualifiers from the RSC with Dan Nehnevaj and Steven Smith from WVU Tech and Dean Freitag from Rio Grande.
The women's contingent is led by Point Park University, which as a distance-medley relay squad qualified. The relay includes individually qualifiers Alyssa Campbell in the mile and Reba Bartram in the 800m. They are joined on the relay by Alyssa Boyd, Kiera Cutright and alternate Alyssa Frausto.
Carlow has two qualifiers with Larissa Kijowski in the 1,000m and Olivia Miller in the triple jump. The women's 60m hurdles has two qualifiers from IU East in Kevaray Gillette and Sheliece Watkins. Aly Turrentine is a national qualifier in the 5,000 meters from Ohio Christian.
