Midway (Ky.) wins RSC Men's Golf Fall Preview by three shots over IU East

FINAL RESULTS

FLORENCE, Ind. -- Midway (Ky.) University held off Indiana University East to win the River States Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview by three shots after Tuesday's final round. The 36-hole tournament was held Monday-Tuesday at Belterra Golf Club. All 12 RSC men's golf teams were in attendance at the preview event for the conference championship at the same course in the spring.

Midway shot a team score of 293 in the final round, the same score it shot in the first round to build a two-shot lead after 18 holes. The Eagles successfully backed up their opening-day performance to edge IU East, which opened with a 295 and then followed that up with a 294.

Asbury (Ky.) University took third place with rounds of 298 and 299. Indiana University Kokomo was fourth after shooting 295-305. Brescia (Ky.) University took fifth after shooting 297 in the final round.

Logan Conn led Midway to the team title by shooting 3-under for the tournament to take medalist honors. He shot rounds of 66-73 for a two-day total of 139. That was three shots ahead of Ohio Christian University's Michael Cooper, who was second at even-par for the tournament. He shot 69-73.

IU East's Jake Miller shot 67 in the final round to tie for third place with a two-day total of 2-over 144. Brescia's Parker Brown was also in that tie for third with a 69 on Tuesday.

Midway also had Will Molen (72-73) in fifth place and Elliott Smith (75-72) in a tie for sixth on the way to the team title.
