Rodriguez picks up RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week for Midway
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University libero Mariana Rodriguez had a big week in the back row to earn River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week Oct. 4-10.
The sophomore from Houston, Texas, compiled 33 digs in two matches to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 week. She averaged 4.71 digs per set with a season-high 21 in a four-set win over Rio Grande (Ohio) and then 12 more in a sweep of WVU Tech. Rodriguez had just to reception errors in seven sets while also picking up 11 assists and three service aces.
Midway is now 12-2 overall, 6-2 RSC heading into its matchup at IU Southeast on Oct. 12.
