Midway's Callahan claims RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University forward Allyson Callahan averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to claim River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Nov. 8-14.
The 5-11 senior from Morehead, Ky., led the Eagles to a 2-1 record on the week. She shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range (11 for 22). Callahan had 21 points, eight rebounds and five 3-pointers in a loss to No. 16 Lindsey (Ky.) Wilson. She also had 21 and four treys versus Campbellsville-Harrodsburg. She finished off with 10 points and seven boards versus Wilberforce.
Mdiway is 3-3 overall and will open up River States Conference play Saturday at Oakland City (Ind.).
