WVU Tech's Scruggs gets RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Senior guard Tamon Scruggs from (RV) WVU Tech continued his strong season to gain River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 6-12.
The 6-4 senior from South Charleston, W.Va., averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 2-0 week for the streaking Golden Bears. He shot 47 percent from the field and a perfect 11 for 11 at the foul line.
Scruggs started out with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists in a win over Washington Adventist. He was 7 for 7 at the line. He finished out the week with 19 points and another six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a victory over Cumberlands (Ky.).
Scruggs has pushed WVU Tech to a record of 13-2 and 10 straight wins. That was after a win Monday night over Bluefield (Va.).
