Griffin named RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for IU East

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University East freshman Kennedy Griffin lit up the scoreboard on her way to River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Dec. 13-19.

A forward from Mt. Washington, Ky., Griffin averaged 21.0 points per game and had some big performances in a 3-0 week for the Red Wolves. Most notably were 26 points in a win over St. Thomas (Fla.) and 28 points in a victory over Keiser (Fla.), both of which were on the Florida trip over the weekend.

Griffin made 12 of 27 3-pointers on the week for 44 percent. She shot 49 percent overall and a perfect 7 for 7 from the foul line. The win over St. Thomas included six made treys, and the next day versus Keiser, she made five more. She started out the week with nine points in only 16 minutes of a win over Ohio Christian.

IU East is 12-3 overall, 3-1 RSC and will be at WVU Tech for its next game Dec. 30.
