RSC M+W Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet Info: Feb. 20 at Logan, Ohio

LOGAN, Ohio -- The 2020-21 River States Conference Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships are coming up on Saturday, Feb. 20. The fourth-annual indoor conference championships will be held at the Chieftain Center in Logan, Ohio. Due to COVID-19, fans will not be permitted to attend.

The Chieftain Center is an 86,000 square foot, multi-purpose indoor facility. The facility was opened in February 2020 and is on the campus of Logan High School. This is thef first time that the RSC championships will be held at the Chieftain Center. The track surface is 200 meters with six lanes on the oval and eight lanes on the sprint straightaway.

Field events begin at 11 a.m., and running events start at 11:15 a.m. with the 5,000 meters. The meet is scheduled to conclude with the distance medley relay at 5:00 p.m.

Eight men's and women's teams will be competing in the championships. Schools competing are Brescia (Ky.), Carlow (Pa.), IU Kokomo, Midway (Ky.), Ohio Christian, Point Park (Pa.), Rio Grande (Ohio) and WVU Tech.

The men's and women's teams with the most points scored during the meet will be the conference champions. All-conference honors will also be on the line with the top three finishers in all events and relays being named All-RSC and earning gold, silver and bronze medals.

Teams are allowed to have four entries per event, and all four entries may score. The top eight finishers in each event will score points for their team. Scoring is as follows: 1st place -- 10 points; 2nd place -- 8 points; 3rd place -- 6 points; 4th place -- 5 points; 5th place -- 4 points; 6th place -- 3 points; 7th place -- 2 points; 8th place -- 1 point.

Individual and team award winners will be named after the meet. In addition to awards for the team champions and runners up, individual awards for men's and women's track and field athletes of the year, coaches of the year and newcomers of the year will be named.
