Day 1 Recap: RSC Men's Golf Championship Rd 1-2 -- Midway (Ky.) leads thru 36 holes

DAY 1 SCORES I LIVE SCORING

FLORENCE, Ind. -- Day 1 of the 2021 River States Conference Men's Golf Championship is in the books after 36 holes at Belterra Golf Club. Midway (Ky.) University holds an 18-shot lead over the other 11 teams heading into Tuesday's final round of 18 holes.

Midway shot team scores of 303 and 297 to take the lead after each of the first and second rounds played on Monday. The Eagles sit at 32-over par for the tournament and a 36-hole team score of 600.

Ohio Christian University is in second place with rounds of 309 and 309 for 618 through rounds one and two. The Trailblazers moved up from fourth to second by coming up with an identical round on the second 18 of the day.

Indiana University East is in third place after Day 1. The Red Wolves were in third place after an opening 308 and then shot 317 in the second round. Indiana University Kokomo is in fourth place. The Cougars opened with a 307 for second place and just four shots back of Midway and then shot 320 in the afternoon.

Rounding out the top half of the field are University of Rio Grande (Ohio) (316-312) in fifth and Asbury (Ky.) University (316-313) one shot back in sixth. For the complete team and individual leaderboard, click the link above for standings and scoring from Golfstat.

IU East freshman Jake Miller is the individual leader through 36 holes at 2-under 140. He shot rounds of 69 and 71. Midway's Logan Conn is two shots back at even par after rounds of 72 and 70. Noah Lung from Ohio Christian sits in third place after shooting 76-72.

Midway put four players in the top five placements through day one with Will Molen (79-71) and Elliott Smith (75-75) tied for fourth. Ohio Christian put three players in the Top 10 on Day 1 with Michael Cooper (73-77) in the tie for fourth and Eli Montgomery (76-79) tied for ninth.

Tee times for Tuesday's final round are based on the standings after Day 1. The first tee times start at 8 a.m. with Brescia (Ky.), Oakland City (Ind.) and Point Park (Pa.) going off No. 1 and WVU Tech, Alice Lloyd (Ky.) and Carlow (Pa.) from No. 10.

The top half of the field has tee times starting at 8:50 a.m. from No. 1 for Midway (Ky.), Ohio Christian and IU East and from No. 10 for IU Kokomo, Rio Grande (Ohio) and Asbury (Ky.).
