Poole named RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for IU Kokomo
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University Kokomo right-hander Renton Poole struck out 17 batters in 9.0 innings last week to claim River States Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Poole, a 6-4 senior from Bloomington, Ind., pitched in two different games covering 9.0 innings. His 17 strikeouts came versus just three walks, and he had a 2.00 ERA for the week.
Poole tossed a complete game of 7.0 innings in a win over Brescia (Ky.), 2-1. He struck out 14, walked just one and did not give up an earned run int he outing while scattering four hits. He also worked 2.0 innings of relief with three strikeouts in a 7-6 win over Lourdes (Ohio).
