Point Park (Pa.) wins RSC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship

EATON, Ohio - Point Park (Pa.) University returned to the top of the podium at the River States Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on April 23.
The Pioneers won their program's second outdoor team conference title by a 182-124 margin over team runner-up University of Rio Grande (Ohio). Point Park won the meet in 2018, was denied a repeat by mere a 2.5-point margin in 2019, and saw the 2020 meet canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Carlow (Pa.) University placed third with 112 points followed by Indiana University Kokomo in fourth with 72. ,
The Pioneers started the two-day event at Eaton (Ohio) High School with a win in the 4x800 relay. They finished it with a first-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. In between, Point Park got individual wins from Alyssa Campbell in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run, Kiera Cutright in the 400-meter hurdles and Sophie Jebose in the pole vault.
Point Park's Jim Spisak was voted the RSC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
The top three placements in all events and relays earned All-River States Conference honors. The top eight finishers in each event earned points for their teams.
After the meet, an awards ceremony was held to recognized the individual awards voted on by coaches and to honor the RSC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Champions of Character Team. Honorees are listed below. Click above for the complete final results.
