MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University Kokomo senior Grant Gaylor won the shot put and the discus at the RSC Championships to be named River States Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and thus also RSC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week April 19-25.

Gaylor, from Kokomo, Ind., won the shot put with a distance of 17.41 meters. That was well beyond the minimum to qualify for the NAIA national meet if he had not already qualified with previous throws. Gaylor currently ranks fourth in the country with his season-best mark of 18.02 meters.

Gaylor won the discus with a toss of 46.85 meters. That was close to the NAIA 'B' standard of 47.60 and won at the RSC meet by over two meters.
