Rio Grande's Brisker named RSC Softball Player of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande freshman Caitlyn Brisker hit over .500 and homered three times to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week April 19-25.

Brisker, from Oak Hill, Ohio, racked up 14 hits in eight games on the week to his .538 (14 for 26). She also scored 14 runs, doubled three times, hit three home runs and drove in nine. Brisker was 3 for 4 in stolen bases and also walked twice to lead Rio Grande to a 7-1 week.

Brisker had a big home run, a solo shot that beat IU Southeast, 1-0, as the team's split the doubleheader. She also homered and had three hits in a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Christian and racked up four hits, including a homer, in a pair of wins over Point Park.

In all, Brisker had multiple hits in six of the eight games on the week. Brisker started out the week going 7 for 8 and scoring six runs in a doubleheader sweep of Thomas More (Ky.)
