MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University Kokomo distance runner Lexi Jackson was selected RSC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year for her performance at the RSC Outdoor Championships and thus also was named for RSC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week April 19-25.
A native of Walton, Ind., Jackson set an RSC meet record in the 5,000 meters placing first with a time of 18:01. That beat the previous record by 29 seconds and registered her second event win of the meet. Jackson started out with a victory in the 10,000 meters the day before. That was with a time of 37:46, which although came up three seconds short of a meet record qualified her for NAIA nationals.
