MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Carlow (Pa.) University sprinter Tyhir Royster and Point Park (Pa.) University thrower Daniel Jacobs earned River States Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for March 29-April 4.

Royster, a sophomore from McKees Rocks, Pa., won the 200 meters at the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational and also placed in the Top 10 in the 100 meters. His time of 23.24 seconds won the 200, and he was ninth in the 100 at 11.30 seconds. Royster also competed in the field with a school record in the long jump and a 19th-place showing.

Jacobs, sophomore from Elizabeth, Pa., won the javelin at an NCAA DII meet for the second week in a row. This time, he took first at Slippery Rock with a toss of 57.13 meters. That beat out the other 19 competitors. In the last two weeks, he has registered NAIA Top-10 ranked throws each time, including last week when he tossed the distance that still ranks second in the country.
