Carlow's Lechner, Point Park's Jebose win RSC Women's Outdoor T&F awards

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Carlow (Pa.) University freshman and Point Park (Pa.) University junior Sophie Jebose were named River States Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for their performances March 29-April 4.

Lechner, a freshman from Wampum, Pa., posted a pair of Top-5 finishes at the NCAA DII Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational. She was second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.76 seconds. She was also fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.26, which broke her own school record. Lechner also competed in the long jump and the shot put placing fifth and 23rd in those field events.

Jebose, from Amsterdam, Netherlands, registered two Top-10 placements in the horizontal jumps at Slippery Rock. She was sixth in the triple jump at 10.62 meters and then followed that up with seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.14 meters. The meet was made up mostly of NCAA DII competitors.
