Rio Grande's Webb wins RSC Softball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande right fielder Taylor Webb racked up 14 hits in six games to win River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 26-May 2.
The junior from Willow Wood, Ohio, hit .560 on the week (14 for 25) with nine of her 14 hits going for extra bases. That included six doubles and three home runs. Webb also scored eight runs and drove in 14.
In a doubleheader sweep of Shawnee State, she was 5 for 7 with two doubles, two homers and five RBIs. She had four hits, a homer and three RBIs in a sweep of Carlow. She capped that off with a big day of five hits -- four of which were doubles --- and six RBIs in taking two games from Point Park.
