VIENNA, W.Va. -- The 2021 All-River States Conference Softball Teams & Awards were recognized Thursday night in an awards ceremony in Vienna, W.Va., the site of the RSC Championship. As selected by the 10 RSC softball head coaches, the teams were honored at Jackson Memorial Park on the first night of the playoffs.

The All-RSC First Team includes 20 selections, and the All-RSC Second Team has 16 members. Each of the first and second teams included three starting pitchers, two catchers, five infielders, four outfielders, one designated player and one utility player. The first team had four at-large selections added regardless of position.

Also named were the individual awards with University of Rio Grande (Ohio) and Indiana University Southeast being represented there. Rio Grande shortstop Caitlyn Brisker, a freshman from Oak Hill, Ohio, had two big honors taking home RSC Player of the Year and RSC Newcomer of the Year.

IU Southeast junior Hannah Ogg, from Wadesville, Ind., was selected the RSC Pitcher of the Year, and the Grenadiers' head coach Joe Witten was named RSC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Brisker is hitting .476 with six home runs and 31 RBIs. She has tallied 59 hits with 25 of them going for extra bases. Her seven triples rank eighth in the NAIA, and she's 15th nationally with 51 runs scored.

Ogg is 28-10 on the year with a 1.42 ERA in 207.1 innings pitched. She is second in the NAIA in wins and innings pitched, and she ranks fifth with four saves. Ogg has struck out 216 batters.

Witten has led the Grenadiers to a 42-14 record overall and 22-4 in the RSC. IU Southeast is "receiving votes" in the NAIA Top 25 and won the RSC West Division title.

Also named was the RSC Softball Championship of Character Team. One representative from each school was nominated by their head coach for best exhibiting the NAIA's five character values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
