Rd 1 Recap: RSC Men's Golf Fall Preview -- Midway ahead by 19 shots

LEADERBOARD

FLORENCE, Ind. -- Midway (Ky.) University has opened up a 19-shot lead after Day 1 Monday at the River States Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview at Belterra Golf Club. The Eagles shot a team score of 290 over the first 18 holes held Monday. The tournament continues with a final round on Tuesday beginning with tee times at 8:00 a.m.

All 12 RSC men's golf teams are represented at this week's tournament, which is a preview for the RSC Championship in the spring. This week's scores will take a look at how the teams stack up as well as contribute to the all-conference honors for individuals.

Logan Conn from Midway is the first-round leader with a 3-under 68 on Monday. He had four birdies -- two on each side -- versus just one bogey on the day. Midway had four players at 75 or better for its team scoring to take the big lead.

Ohio Christian University's Jake Hamilton is in second place with an even-par 71. He had four birdies and also an eagle on No. 18. Nicholas Eroles (73) from WVU Tech and Camron Turner (73) from Midway are tied for third.

Indiana University Kokomo shot 309 and sits in second place after 18 holes. The Cougars have Harley Pugh as one of three players tied for fifth with a 74. That also includes Jake Miller from Indiana University East and Hayes Mason from Midway.

Brescia (Ky.) University shot 313 for third place so far while Oakland City (Ind.) University (321) and IU East (322) are fourth and fifth. For the complete team and individual leaderboard, click the link above.

For Tuesday's action, the top three teams of Midway, IU Kokomo and Brescia will start on hole No. 1 at 9:15 a.m. ET. Going off of No. 1 at 8:10 a.m. will be Oakland City, IU East and Ohio Valley. Starting on No. 10 at 8:00 a.m. will be Ohio Christian, St. Mary of the Woods and Rio Grande. WVU Tech, Carlow and individuals from Point Park (Pa.) will start at No. 10 at 8:55 a.m.
