IU East's Barrett Matthews chosen for RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University East middle hitter Teah Barrett Matthews lit up the scoreboard on her way to River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week Sept. 20-26.
A freshman from Louisville, Ky., Barrett Matthews threw down 32 kills and hit .377 in a 3-0 week for the Red Wolves. She had just nine errors in 61 attempts to lead the IU East attack. She also added 14 total blocks and scored 40 points in 12 sets. Barrett Matthews powered the Red Wolves to wins over WVU Tech, Carlow and Point Park.
She hit over .400 in both of the matches in Pittsburgh including 11 kills, a .421 percentage and six blocks in a five-setter over the Pioneers. That moved IU East to 11-6 overall, 6-0 RSC. The Red Wolves will host Midway and IU Southeast this weekend.
