Midway's Evans tabbed RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University senior Raekwon Evans had a huge week to receive River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week Jan. 17-23.
A forward from Louisville, Ky., Evans led the Eagles to a 3-0 week by averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 blocks per game. He shot 56 percent from the field (23 for 41) and 14 for 17 from the foul line.
Evans had a big double-double of 22 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win over Brescia (Ky). He then had 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in a victory over IU Southeast. He concluded with 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks in Midway's first-ever win over IU East.
Midway is 11-5, 5-4 RSC and will host Carlow (Pa.) on Thursday.
