Castelli named RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University libero Ashley Castelli led the back row and is River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Oct. 3-9.
A senior from Canonsburg, Pa., Castelli had a team-high of 49 digs in a 3-0 week for the Pioneers. She averaged 5.44 digs per set in nine sets played on the week. She started out with 18 digs and two assists in a sweep at Ohio Christian. Then she had 17 digs and two aces in a 3-0 victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.). Castelli finished up with 14 digs in three sets before having to leave a 3-2 win over IU Kokomo.
