Shirley repeats RSC Volleyball Setter of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University East junior Reece Shirley is the River States Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Sept. 26-Oct. 2. It is the second week in a row she's won the award and the third time this year.
Shirley, Michigan City, Ind., had 125 assists and averaged 12.50 assists per set in three matches. That led the Red Wolves to a 2-1 week, all within conference. She also added 33 digs for an average of 3.33 per set and eight total kills for the week.
Shirley had a double-double of 36 assists and 12 digs in a sweep of St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.). She continued with 34 assists, 10 digs and three kills in a sweep of Carlow (Pa.). Despite 55 assists, 11 digs and four kills from Shirley, there was a 3-1 loss to Point Park (Pa.).
