Sugiya snags RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University outside hitter Anju Sugiya claimed River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Oct. 24-30.
The Tokyo, Japan, native had 39 kills in two matches and hit .326 for the week. She averaged 5.57 kills per set to power the Eagles to a pair of RSC victories. She also had 39 digs for an average of 5.57 per set there as well.
Sugiya posted 16 kills and 15 digs in just three sets while hitting .371 versus Brescia (Ky.). She then had 23 kills, 24 digs and a .300 percentage in a 3-1 victory over IU Southeast.
