Lopez picks up RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Aina Lopez from University of Rio Grande (Ohio) had a big playoff performance to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
The freshman goalkeeper got the win in the RedStorm's 2-1 victory at Oakland City (Ind.) in the RSC Championship quarterfinals. She made 10 saves in the overtime win. She faced 16 shots and withstood as the RedStorm had just four shots of their own. The victory pushed Rio Grande into the semifinals.
