Alderton claims RSC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week from Brescia (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Brescia (Ky.) University junior Bree Alderton qualified for NAIA nationals in the 3,000 meters to garner River States Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Jan. 24-30.
A native of Owensboro, Ky., Alderton ran a time of 10 minutes, 7.65 seconds to meet the NAIA "A" standard and qualify for nationals. That came at the Tiger Paw Classic, where she finished first out of 21 entries. Alderton is ranked sixth in the NAIA and first in the conference with that time.
The Bearcats will be competing at the Chieftain Center on Feb. 4.
