Callaghan picks up RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for IU Kokomo
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University Kokomo left hander Owen Callaghan started of a series win with a victory to earn River States Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 7-13.
Callaghan, a senior from Fishers, Ind., tossed 7.0 innings in a 8-1 victory over Truett McConnell (Ga.). That led things off for the Cougars, who took two out of three on the week to improve to 3-4 overall.
Callaghan worked around a first-inning run and let the bats come around later. He gave up five hits and just the one run. He balanced out three walks with three strikeouts.
IU Kokomo will be welcoming IU South Bend and St. Francis (Ind.) on Friday.
