Eze takes home RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, Week for Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Collins Eze starred at the RSC Indoor Championships to earn River States Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors. Thus, he is also the RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Feb. 14-20.
Eze, from Lagos, Nigeria, scored 25 points as the second-highest men's scorer of the championship. He scored 10 points for first place in his main event of the triple jump. Already an NAIA national qualifier in the event, he came through with a personal best of 14.09 meters.
Eze was also third in the high jump, and he registered a PR in that event as well as a new performer in that discipline. He also scored in the long jump in fourth place and in the 60 meters in fifth place with a personal best.
The big day for Eze powered the Pioneers to the team title, their fourth conference indoor championship in five years of the meet. He moves on to NAIA nationals in the triple jump.
