MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Daimere Stephens-Stewart won the two short sprints at the RSC Indoor Championships to earn River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. For that, he is also the RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Feb. 14-20.

Stephens-Stewart medaled a total of four times at the meet and was the men's individual leader in total points scored with 36. He took gold in the 60 meters and the 200 meters. He also won first place in the long jump with a meet record and was third in the triple jump on the field side of things.

His track performance included an NAIA national qualifying mark in the 60 meters of 6.89 seconds. The personal-best time was just 0.01 off the meet record. The long-jump meet record goes along with a national qualification in the event earlier in the year.

Stephens-Stewart led the Pioneers to victory with a championship record 242 team points scored. It was the fourth title in five years for the Pioneers.
