Myers picks up RSC Softball Player of the Week for (RV) Rio Grande (Ohio)

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- (RV) University of Rio Grande freshman Jenna Myers debuted with four homers in five games to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week Feb. 14-20.

Myers, an infielder from Hebron, Ohio, hit .474 with four homers and 10 RBIs as the RedStorm opened the season going 3-2 on the weekend. She was 9 for 19 with five of the hits going for extra bases, and she scored five runs.

Highlights were a 4 for 4 game with a homer and four RBIs in a win over Cleary (Mich.) and also a two-homer game and four RBIs in a victory over Lawrence Tech (Mich.). She keyed the other Rio Grande win on the week with a home run in her first collegiate at bat and two RBIs.

The RedStorm will be going to Columbus, Ga., Feb. 25-27 for five games
