Thompson selected RSC Softball Player of the Week for Midway (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University freshman Kennadi Thompson hit .500 in four games to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week March 6-13.
The infielder from Louisville, Ky., was 6 for 12 at the plate to power Midway to a 4-0 record on the week. She hit safely in all four games, which included doubleheader sweeps of Huntington (Ind.) and Taylor (Ind.). Thompson had three doubles, walked three times and drove in seven runs.
The victories of 2-1 and 12-5 over Huntington had Thompson collect four RBIs on the day. In the 2-0 and 6-5 wins over Taylor, she was a combined 4 for 6 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Midway is 8-2 overall and plays at Georgetown (Ky.) on March 15.
