Blatnik repeats as RSC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University javelin thrower Jakob Blatnik hit the NAIA 'A' standard again to repeat as the River States Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for April 4-10.
The freshman from Lijubjana, Slovenia, placed sixth in the javelin at the NCAA Division I George Mason Invitational. He had a toss of 59.35 meters, which was comfortably past the NAIA top standard of 57.00 meters.
Blatnik still ranks No. 1 in the NAIA with his season-best distance of 63.68 meters last weekend at West Liberty.
