INTERNSHIP JOB POSTING
The River States Conference is pleased to offer for the second year in a row the RSC Diversity Internship. The 2021-22 school year was the first year that the internship opportunity was in existence. The RSC is now seeking interns for the 2022-23 school year.

Program Description:
The River States Conference Diversity Internship program aims to provide underrepresented, talented, and diverse candidates a comprehensive experience in the field of intercollegiate athletics. The program exists to promote initiatives that educate, cultivate, and prepare tomorrow's leaders in the field of intercollegiate athletics while also embracing principles of diversity and inclusion.
Internship positions will be awarded to qualified student-athletes who are chosen by a Diversity Internship Committee. Candidates must possess an interest in furthering their education, demonstrate a commitment to diversity, and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics administration.
Internship opportunities will be offered at the end of each athletic season (Fall, Winter and Spring) at River States Conference championship events. Each institution will be notified of application deadlines for each season's championship event.
Qualifications:
- Current status as a student-athlete at a current River States Conference member institution
- Minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 2.5
- Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply
To be considered, applicants must submit:
Resume and cover letter highlighting any past or current (high school or intercollegiate) campus and community involvement, honors, awards, and a brief explanation of how this internship will help you achieve your goals of working in the athletic field
Minimum cumulative grade-point-average (GPA) of 2.5
Internship Description:
Interns will have the opportunity to handle multiple duties and responsibilities during championship events. Interns will have a chance to gain valuable resume-building experience in many areas. Reimbursement for any authorized travel, lodging or meal expenses in conjunction with championship or other River States Conference events will be provided.
Tasks may include
• Assisting the Conference Commissioner with the administration of Conference championship event
• Assisting with the distribution of all team and individual trophies and awards.
• Assist with social media marketing
• Assist with River States Conference website updates
• Implement marketing and promotions strategies for championship events
• Assist with researching and building comprehensive archives
• Assist with ticket and souvenir sales
• Assist with event operations (set-up and breakdowns)
• Assist with photography and videography
• Assist with graphic design
• Assist with broadcasting duties (play-by-play, producing, camera, etc.)
• Any other tasks that are needed to successfully operate a championship event
