MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Southeast junior Ellie Jackman hit over .500 for the week to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance April 18-24.

The third baseman from Brazil, Ind., was 15 for 29 in eight games for a .517 average. That powered the Grenadiers to a 7-1 record, all of which came in RSC play. She scored eight runs, doubled six times, tripled and drove in four runs. Jackman also picked up two walks and a stolen base.

Jackman had six multi-hit games on the week and hit safely in all eight contests. She started off 5 for 7 with two doubles and four runs in a doubleheader sweep of Brescia (Ky.). She had four hits in a doubleheader versus Carlow (Pa.) and another four hits in a split versus Point Park (Pa.). There also were a couple of doubles to lead the Grenadiers to a pair of wins over St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.).
