All-RSC Women's Tennis Teams & Awards honored at RSC Championship

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- The 2022 All-River States Conference Women's Tennis Teams & Awards were handed out April 28 at Top Seed Tennis Club, the site of the RSC Championship this weekend.

The All-RSC First & Second Teams were honored as well as the RSC Champions of Character Team and the big individual award winners.

Indiana University East was recognized as repeat RSC Regular Season Champions. The Red Wolves were a perfect 7-0 RSC and earned the No. 1 seed in the postseason.

IU East had a league-best four players named to the All-RSC teams.

Oakland City (Ind.) University freshman Liz Aristizabal was the big individual winner of the night. Aristizabal was named RSC Women's Tennis Player of the Year and RSC Women's Tennis Newcomer of the Year.

Oakland City made it a sweep of the major individual awards as the Mighty Oaks' Colin Dixon was named RSC Coach of the Year.

Joining Aristizabal on the six-player All-RSC First Team were Camila Caballero and Linda Marino from IU East, Gabbie Orlando from Indiana University Kokomo plus Diamante Krivickiate and Hannah Joy Simms from Brescia (Ky.) University.

The six players from the All-RSC Second Team had two from IU East and two from IU Kokomo and one each from Brescia and Midway. See below for the complete listing of the teams.

Also named was the RSC Women's Tennis Champions of Character Team. One member of each team was nominated by their head coach as the one who best displays the NAIA five core character values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
