Kocis earns RSC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, Week for Midway (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University junior Jacob Kocis won River States Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week at the RSC Championships and is also the RSC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance April 25-May 1.
A native of Island Pond, Vt., Kocis swept the distance events at the RSC Championships with first-place finishes in the 10,000 meters on Friday and the 5,000 meters on Saturday. He also ran the 4x800 relay on the first day placing Midway fifth.
Kocis' distance double was with times of 34:04 in the 10K and 15:24 in the 5K. That led Midway to four place in the final team standings.
