Weber wins RSC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, Week for Rio Grande (Ohio)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande freshman Eric Weber was picked for River States Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year at the RSC Championships and thus is the RSC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance April 25-May 1.
Weber, from Bidwell, Ohio, won two throws events at the RSC Championship. He won the hammer throw on the first day with a toss of 48.47 meters. The next day, he won his second conference championship placing first in the discus. His toss of 41.01 meters beat a field of 23 entries.
Weber led the Rio Grande team to runner-up in the team standings and lead after the first day of events on Friday.
