MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The Midway (Ky.) University men's soccer team has been chosen as the River States Conference Men's Team of Character Award winner for 2021-22. The Eagles were selected after a vote from the RSC Champions of Character Committee.

The RSC Team of Character awards honor one men's and one women's team each year for their exemplary character and sportsmanship on the field, on campus and in the community. A deserving team demonstrates the NAIA's five core character values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership. The award is patterned after the national team of character award presented by the NAIA.

"I am extremely excited about this. The team has worked hard to build a positive culture," said Midway men's soccer head coach Tim Wolz. "I hope they are understanding that soccer is a tool to gain life experiences. Working in the community is rewarding and encourages personal growth. This is a special award that we all will cherish."

The Midway men's soccer team was involved in several service projects throughout the year. The Eagles were emphasizing the five core character values with their work and participation in the community service activities.

The team was involved with a local Midway church doing cleaning, trimming, shrub work, recycling and trash removal. They also were involved in cleaning the local dog park.

The Eagles were also volunteers at a middle school helping with kids' soccer. They also volunteered at the Bluegrass State games. The team also heled with move-in day for freshman.
