Stewardson named RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University freshman Gillianne Stewardson is the River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Sept. 19-25.
A center back from Campbell River, British Columbia, she keyed the defensive effort in two RSC wins on the week. The Pioneers beat Carlow, 3-1, with no goals allowed until the 90th minute and only three shots on goal throughout. Next up was a 4-1 win over Ohio Christian with no shots allowed in the second half after the Pioneers had taken control at the break up 4-1.
