Smith snags RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Alyvia Smith from No. 18-ranked Indiana University Kokomo is the River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week for Oct. 2-8. She claimed the award for the third time this season.
Smith, a senior libero from Muncie, Ind., averaged 5.10 digs per set in a 3-0 week for the Cougars. Smith picked up 51 total digs in 10 sets while also making just one reception error in 56 chances.
She 14 digs in a 3-1 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.), 24 digs in just three sets versus Shawnee State (Ohio) and 13 digs versus Alice Lloyd (Ky.). She passed a 2.3 for the week.
