Thomas named RSC Baseball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- A.J. Thomas from University of Rio Grande (Ohio) was chosen as the River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for Feb. 13. The first award of the year is for all games so far this season.
Thomas, a junior outfielder from Pickerington, Ohio, is hitting .385 with six home runs and 18 RBIs in 10 games so far this year. With 13 hits in 37 at-bats, 10 of the hits have gone for extra bases with his six homers and four doubles. He is slugging .946.
Thomas has put up six multi-hit games and three games of four RBIs each. Some highlights were 2 for 5 with a double, homer and four RBIs in a win over Thomas More (Ky.), going 3 for 4 with two homers and four RBIs despite a close loss to Bryan (Tenn.) and 2 for 4 with a double, homer and four RBIs in a victory over Bethel (Tenn.).
