Stamps repeats as RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Jalen Stamps from Point Park (Pa.) University is the River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5 presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. It is the second week in a row he's claimed the honor.
Stamps, a guard from Indianapolis, Ind., averaged 24.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in two victories for the Pioneers. He shot 49 percent from the field (17 for 35), made 8 of 12 from the arc and was 6 for 6 on free throws.
He put up 31 points in a win over WVU Tech making 5 of 9 treys and all four of his free throws. Stamps then scored 17 points connecting on 6 for 9 from the field, all three of his attempts from long range and both of his free throws. He only had two turnovers in 79 minutes of play in the two games.
