Cardoso claims RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Javier Cardoso from Point Park (Pa.) University claimed River States Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for March 6-12.
The sophomore right-hander from Miami, Fla., went 2-0 on the week covering 10.0 innings with a 0.90 ERA. He gave up only one run and six hits in his two outings.
Cardoso pitched a shutout of 9.0 innings in an 8-0 victory over Rio Grande (Ohio). He went the distance allowing just four hits. Earlier in the week, he got the win in relief pitching the ninth inning of a 6-5 comeback win over Northwestern Ohio.
