DANIELS, W.V.- The Eagles of Midway University made it a sweep of the River States Conference Golf Fall Previews, as the men's team followed the lead of the women by claiming the major hardware at Glade Springs Resort Golf Course on Tuesday. The Eagles rolled to a 13-stroke victory in the team event, and placed a pair of golfers in a playoff for the individual title. The Eagles, who were picked fourth in the conference in the preseason coaches' poll, claimed victory in a look ahead to the Conference Championships, which will be held on the same course this spring in Daniels, West Virginia.

With conditions cooler and overcast on Monday, the teams seemed to mostly be bunched into two groups. The top four teams - Midway, Rio Grande, WVU Tech, and Oakland City - were separated by just eight total strokes, with Midway leading the way. The teams ranked fifth through ninth were separated by just five strokes, leading to an exciting round Tuesday. On the individual side, the only two golfers under par were Midway's Hayes Mason and Oakland City's Leo Molino.

Scores dropped on the second day of the tournament, with each of the top seven teams in the field posting a better score in the final round than the first. Although facing a challenge from team runner-up Rio Grande throughout the day, the Eagles pulled away for a 13-stroke win, going under par for the day. Two Midway golfers were under par for the day, and none of the five golfers in Midway's team score carded a score higher than 74.

The individual title was decided in dramatic fashion. Four golfers arrived at their final hole within one shot of the lead, including three golfers that were finishing on the traditional 18th hole. Of the three golfers with a share of the lead, a pair of Midway Eagles - Hayes Mason and Jack Bedell - both birdied the 18th, forcing a playoff. On the playoff hole, with both golfers back on the 18th, Mason drilled an eagle putt to win the tournament.

The RSC Fall Preview puts the league's teams on the same course as the 2025 River States Conference Championships, scheduled for this coming May as the final championship decided for the 2024-25 school year. The Preview served as the final tournament of the fall for a number of teams in the Conference, while several will compete into October before breaking for the winter months.
