IU Columbus Rallies to Draw Brescia in Men's Soccer Match of the Week

OWENSBORO, Ky. - In a thrilling comeback, the IU Columbus Crimson Pride salvaged a 2-2 draw against Brescia University on Thursday, October 3. The result moves IU Columbus' record to 4-5-2 overall.

The match began with Brescia asserting early dominance. The home team struck first in the 16th minute when Federico Munoz found the back of the net, assisted by Katai Mukuka. Brescia doubled their lead just seven minutes later, with Lucas Santos scoring off an assist from Declan Armistead.

Facing a 2-0 deficit, the Crimson Pride refused to back down. Their persistence paid off in the 26th minute when Kevin Cruz, continuing his goal-scoring form from the previous match, pulled one back for IU Columbus. Bryce Dolenc provided the crucial assist, injecting new life into the visitors' campaign.

The first half saw intense action beyond the goals, with yellow cards issued to Brescia's Mukuka and IU Columbus' Cruz and Cyuzuzo Ndayambaje.

IU Columbus came out strong in the second half, pressing for an equalizer. Their efforts were rewarded in the 71st minute when Angel Roque, found the net. Rex Randy, turned provider this time with the assist.
