EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Red Wolves of Indiana University East again proved themselves as the dominant women's cross country program in the River States Conference on Saturday, winning their second straight RSC title Saturday morning at the Angel Mounds Historic Site in Evansville, Indiana. The Red Wolves dominated the 2024 River States Conference Cross Country Championships, finishing 27 points ahead of team runner-up Shawnee State.

IU East placed all five of their scoring runners within the top 20, with each runner earning some type of All-Conference recognition. The three teams behind the Red Wolves were tightly bunched, with Shawnee State just six points ahead of third place Rio Grande, and fourth place Midway just one point behind the RedStorm.

The Red Wolves also took home the hardware on the individual level, with Cassandra Schrubb winning the race and taking home Runner of the Year honors with a time of 22:11.2. Schrubb finished three seconds ahead of runner-up Olivia Cisco of Shawnee State. The top rookie in the race was Rio Grande's Laura Hamm, who clocked in at 23:27.6 to take fifth place and win the Newcomer of the Year award.

The four individual spots allocated to the River States Conference were taken by Cisco, Hamm, Rio Grande's Amarissa Kerns, and Midway's Trinity Smith, all of whom were First Team All-River States Conference selections.

IU East and the qualified runners advance to the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship, held this year at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
