River States Players of the Week - Dec. 2-8

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.

All awards represent contests played from Monday, December 2 through Sunday, December 8.

Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Defensive Player of the Week
Shon Tupuola, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | So. - Center - Brownsburg, Indiana
Tupuola went a perfect 14-of-14 from the field in a win at Concordia to score 28 points with 13 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. He added 17 rebounds and 13 points for his seventh double-double of the season in the home win over Simmons (Ky.). On the week, the repeat Defensive Player of the Week was 18-of-20 shooting (90 percent) and averaged 20.5 points and 15.0 rebounds.

Offensive Player of the Week
Eric Butler, Rio Grande | Sr. - Guard - Orlando, Florida
Butler led the RedStorm to their biggest win of the 2024-25 season to date, an 83-78 victory over No. 9 Cumberlands on the road. The Orlando native scored 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding six rebounds and two assists. Butler knocked two three-pointers in the victory, and was perfect from the foul line.

Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Defensive Player of the Week
Jasmine Jordan, Rio Grande | Fr. - Forward - Ashland, Kentucky
On the defensive end of the floor, Jordan wreaked havoc on Cincinnati Clermont. The freshman forward pulled down 17 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end. The Ashland, Kentucky native also grabbed four steals and blocked two shots as Rio Grande cruised to a 107-62 road victory over UC Clermont.

Offensive Player of the Week
Jasmine Jordan, Rio Grande | Fr. - Forward - Ashland, Kentucky
Offensively, Jordan had a standout performance against Cincinnati Clermont. The forward scored 26 points, shooting 50 percent from the field. She also collected eight offensive rebounds, part of a 17-rebound performance in the 107-62 victory. Jordan made nine of her 14 shots inside the arc, while also adding two assists.
