RSC Baseball Championship: May 2-5 at Chillicothe, Ohio

CHILLICOTHE, OHio -- The 2024 River States Conference Baseball Championship is May 2-5 in Chillicothe, Ohio, with eight teams battling it out for the RSC crown. The championship will be held at VA Memorial Stadium for the seventh straight time.

The eight teams are split into two pods of four teams each. The winner of each pod will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA national tournament and will meet in the winner-take-all RSC Championship final game. Prior to the championship final game, the tournament is double-elimination in each pod.

The top two teams in each of the RSC East and West Divisions automatically qualified for the RSC Championship in Chillicothe. The remaining four teams and the seeding were determined by the RSC Championship Opening Round played last weekend.

Point Park (Pa.) University is the No. 1 overall seed and the RSC regular-season champion. The Pioneers won the RSC East Division and defeated RSC West champ IU Southeast in the opening round to earn the top seed overall. IU Southeast is the top seed in its pod and the No. 2 overall seed.

Shawnee State (Ohio) earned the No. 3 seed with an opening-round series win over IU Kokomo, the No. 4 seed. The Bears and Cougars were both second in their divisions.

Seeds No. 5-8 earned their way into the championship with RSC opening-round series victorys. No. 5 Oakland City (Ind.), No. 6 WVU Tech, No. 7 Rio Grande (Ohio) and No. 8 Ohio Christian each won their weekend to advance to Chillicothe.

The RSC Championship features four games each on Thursday, Friday and Saturday scheduled for 9:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The schedule for the final day on Sunday will be determined based on the number of teams still alive.
