MIDDLETOWN, Ohio- The River States Conference is pleased to announce the selection of Midway University's Stephanie Keeley as the 2023-24 River States Conference Faculty-Athletics Representative of the Year. Keeley was selected as the 2023-24 winner of the award after a vote of the RSC's member institutions.

Keeley has been an instructor in Midway University's equine program since 2014, and became the Eagles' faculty-athletics representative (FAR) during the 2017-18 school year. In her role as Midway's FAR, she meets with all transfers and assists in completing eligibility for all of Midway's NAIA sports, consisting of more than 600
student-athletes.

Keeley has also been a credit to the River States Conference, as she serves the RSC as a member of both the league's eligibility and conduct committees. She does all this while also serving as a professor in Midway's equine program, teaching first-year student courses as well as the management classes. In the greater Kentucky community, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Horse Council and on the board of the Friends of the Lexington Mounted Police.

The RSC Faculty-Athletics Representative of the Year award was established in 2016-17. Its purpose is to recognize one FAR within the conference each year for outstanding service and dedication to the role with an RSC and NAIA athletic department and campus.

The FAR is a member of the faculty who works with the athletic department to certify the eligibility of all student-athletes at that institution before they can represent the school in competition. The FAR cannot be a coach or an athletics administrator and is well versed in the rules and regulations of the NAIA.
